One Step Closer

images3We may have one of the best post Christmas presents coming our way. Here’s a glimpse of what we know.

For Heat fans everywhere that have been wanting to revive memories of the beloved show, came another step closer this weekend.

Tourism Director for Covington Jenny McDonald posted yesterday that we was meeting with a gentleman who owns several treasures from the production. In her post she was looking forward to seeing the treasures he has.

She also posted that they were going to go out and map more filming locations where Heat took place so that they can add them to their map at the visitors center. We know that several people have been working hard to bring something together for all of us Heat fans, this will bring us one step closer. Having visited Sparta aka Covington before and finding locations that were not mapped was challenging as times have changed some of the familiar places we see on tv. It’s been almost 20 years since the last scenes were filmed so of course things have changed. Ms McDonald says finding more locations for fans to see will make it a better experience for them. I couldn’t agree more, I can’t wait to get back to Covington and see the progress that Ms McDonald is making in reviving the true fan experience.

She is also working on bringing to life a guided tour of the different filming sites for fans to enjoy. I am ready to see her dream become our reality as I would want to be one of the first to take that journey back in time. A reunion for the cast would also be a great way to start the inaugural guided tour. I can see it in my mind as a heat fan how I would like to see it happen, but on the other hand the curiosity of seeing what and how they put it together is as equally interesting in my mind.

I will be keeping an eye out for more news coming from what I am calling” Sparta the guided tour ” to develop. This is truly exciting to me as a Heat fan and that having the privilege to write about it so that other fans can see that it is rapidly changing from a dream into a reality.

I wish Ms McDonald the best of luck on this project and will support this project to the fullest as I would hope other fans will do the same.

I cannot wait to see more sites. I visited Covington aka Sparta on July 4th and was thrilled to see the sites I did see.
